New Year’s resolutions!

So I very rarely do New Year’s resolutions because I just get really annoyed when I don’t stick to them. And I also think that you shouldn’t need the new year to improve yourself or your life in some way. Just bloody do it in April or whenever.

But the ones I’ve picked are ones that I’m already doing but my resolution is to continue it. I think this way I am less likely to fail and get annoyed with myself. I’m determined that this year is going to be full of fun, laughs and productivity. Hopefully my new year’s resolutions will help me on my way! :)

1. Continue with low GL diet.

No junk food, no cows milk, minimum milk chocolate, minimum white pasta/rice, no crisps, minimum sweets, minimum fizzy drinks. I had been quite good until christmas. And then I just spent 6 days scoffing on all sorts of naughties over the christmas period. So its back to the diet in the new year. I know it sounds incredibly boring, cutting out anything that is of any excitement. But it helps my health condition as well as getting me healthy and giving me energy

2. Read more books.

I want to read at least 2 books a month whether they are fiction or non - fiction. I also want to read a more varied selection of books.

3. Blog more.

So I want blog more. And blog more content and interesting stuff. I want to be more interactive on tumblr and get to know people more.

4. Learn to drive.

 Self explanatory.

 5. Research more and get the ball rolling in teacher training.

The Visible World by Mark Slouka
I loved this book. The language used to describe the Nazi occupied Czechoslovakia during world war 2 really is immense. Your head is filled with the sights and smells of the war torn country. Throughout the book the author keeps you hooked, dying to know more, to understand why his mother became the lady who he knew and the story behind her past that she refused to talk about. It is a story of love, passion and heartbreak,  but also adventure and history.
I would recommend this book to people who have even the slightest interest in war. The historical aspects of the book really entertained my history obsessed mind, while the passionate love story kept my girly romance obsessed mind happy.
